I’m a full-time wedding photographer based in Providence, Rhode Island, but I’ll happily travel anywhere your story takes me, whether it's across the U.S. or straight to the moon (okay, maybe not the moon... yet). I specialize in capturing weddings that are bold, unique, and as real as you are, no cookie-cutter stuff here. If you’re looking for someone who blends elegance with authenticity and knows how to dodge all the awkward "say cheese" moments, I’m your photographer.
Here’s the truth: Time doesn’t wait for anyone. The day slips by in a blur, and before you know it, the moments are gone. But photos? They don’t just capture what happened, they freeze how it felt. They give you a chance to relive those moments, raw, real, and full of emotion. That’s the magic of photography, and that’s what I aim to create with every click of my camera.
And there’s more, your wedding should feel like you. It’s about celebrating your love, with your community the way it deserves to be celebrated, and I’d be honored to document every spontaneous-perfect-imperfect moment of your day.
I'm more than just a photographer, I'm artist, a visual storyteller and I can't wait to hear your story!
Born and raised in Brazil, I found my calling while visiting my cousin Gui in England who also happens to be an amazing photographer and someone who will forever inspire me. Three months following my trip, I enrolled in college for Photography & Film and the rest, as they say, is history.
Aside from photographing beautiful couples, being a mother to my son, River, is a huge important part of my life. It’s truly the most wonderful experience I’ve ever lived and for that, I’m forever grateful. If you like a good old midwife story, I'll be happy to share River's birth story with you.
I’ve got more tattoos than I can count, and I’m a lover of coffee and wine, though not necessarily in that order. Dogs are fun and I will never turn down a cuddle, but deep down, I’m definitely a cat person. Or a cat lady, if we’re being honest.
Traveling is a big part of who I am, and I try to explore the world as much as possible. These days, it feels even more meaningful since becoming a mom. Watching River embrace the joy of exploration has been such a rewarding experience for me.
Oh, and I’m a total movie and TV show junkie. From Lord of the Rings to Mindhunters, whether it's fantasy, crime, or musicals, I’m in. If it’s good, I’ll watch it.
When I was 18 years old and still living in Brazil, I told my grandpa that I wanted to participate in a photography contest, and to be considered, I had to take a picture of a colored tree. Right away he said he knew the perfect one and we went on a little adventure to find the tree. He was right, the tree was stunning and I WON the contest! The prize was good money and a one-month exhibition in the Museum of Fine Arts in São Paulo, Brazil. Pretty cool right?
But when I think of that day, the prize was just a bonus. What stays in my heart is the unforgettable experience I had with my grandpa - the adventure we went on, the laughs we had when the wind kept blowing his hat away, the heat of that afternoon, and most of all, how proud and elevated he was in his quest to help me.
It’s this photo of him that brings back all my fond memories and feelings from the day. That’s what sticks. That’s what matters most. Nothing else matches up to it, even the prize!
And I want to do the same for you. To cherish and remember the important events in your life. Documenting your experience through photos will always be one of the best investments you’ll ever make.
When I’m not photographing people, I like to do anything that involves my family and friends. We love to eat, drink wine, and make food that reminds us of life back in Brazil. Brazilian bread and Pão de Queijo (cheese bread) is always a favorite.
I have cute kid (you can find photos of River throwout this website) and their birth was the most magical experience and if you’re one of those who love a midwife story, this is a good one and I’d be happy to share in person.
Though I’ll always stay deeply connected to my culture and roots, I love that photography gives me the opportunity to travel and explore new places. There is no place on this planet that I wouldn’t photograph so I get out on the road whenever I can.
This is a little bit of who I am and the things I love. We all have a thing or two in common but we’re all unique in our own way, just like our stories. Photography is really what I was born to do and it’s one of my greatest joys. Big or small, I’d be honored to document your life’s special moments.
The feeling of excitement I get before every wedding shoot is addictive. The night before any wedding, you’ll find me packing all my gear - triple-checking batteries, memory cards, film for the analog camera, etc. And since I’m privileged to be attending one of the most important days in your life, I also set aside an outfit that will have me appropriately attired and looking sharp.
On the day itself, you can count on me arriving early to help you ensure everything flows smoothly. Always matching your energy, my goal is to have you and your soulmate feeling relaxed and confident throughout your big day. I’ll tie your shoes, fix your hair, connect with your parents, laugh and dance with you...supporting you through all of the things from start to finish!
From capturing you getting ready with your bridal gang to everyone sneaking in a few drinks to calm their nerves, I’ll be there to capture every detail as it all unfolds. Naturally and authentically.
More than your wedding photographer, I’m an empathetic gal who can connect with your story, your family, your guests, and most importantly, YOU! Proud to be your chosen photographer, pouring heart and soul into creating an epic experience, I’ll give you my all.
My photography journey began back in my awkward teen years, when I didn’t quite fit in but found a sense of belonging behind the lens of a camera. Life was changing faster than I could keep up, and photos were my way of hitting pause, capturing the moments I wanted to hold on to. They became my reassurance that I could freeze time, if only for a moment, and keep those memories alive.
Now, as your wedding photographer, I’m all about freezing the moments that matter, those little details that make your day yours. The photos I take aren’t just images, they’re time capsules that help you relive your wedding day, the way it felt, the way it smelled, the song that played while you danced, and even that one conversation you’ll never forget. A photo isn’t just a memory, it’s a trigger for all the emotions, the sounds, and the smells that made that moment unforgettable.
I tap into your individuality, your chemistry, and your unique love story to capture something organic, real, and intimate. No awkward poses or forced smiles, just you, in the moment, exactly as you are.
With relentless dedication, I promise to deliver more than just photos. You’ll get an artistic masterpiece that stands the test of time, something that’ll take you right back to those moments every time you look at it. These aren’t just memories, they’re part of the legacy you’ll pass down to future generations.
"Marília was so peaceful and patient, didn’t ask us to do poses she simply and truly captured the moments magically making it look like art."
